Install Outpost in NetSuite

Installing Outpost takes about five minutes and requires an administrator role in NetSuite.

Step 1: Locate the Outpost bundle

Open NetSuite and navigate to Customization → SuiteBundler → Search & Install Bundles. Search for Outpost, or paste the bundle ID provided by VCG into the search field.

Step 2: Install the bundle

  1. Click the Outpost bundle in the search results
  2. Review the bundle contents and click Install
  3. On the install preview page, leave all components selected and click Install Bundle
  4. Wait for the install to complete. Most installs finish in 2 to 3 minutes.

Step 3: Confirm the install

Once the install completes, a new Outpost by VCG menu appears in your NetSuite navigation.

The sidebar contains:

  • Dashboard. At-a-glance status of your export templates and recent runs.
  • Scheduled exports. Where you create and manage export templates.
  • Job history. The audit log of every export run.
  • Connections. Where you authenticate and manage destinations (admin only).
  • Settings. Account-level configuration.

If you see the menu, the install worked. Move on to configuring permissions.

Troubleshooting the install

The bundle install failed partway through

Bundle installs occasionally fail because of an unrelated NetSuite job running at the same time. Wait a few minutes, then re-run the install. If it fails a second time, check the bundle install log for the specific error and contact support with the log attached.

The Outpost menu doesn't appear after install

This is almost always a role permissions issue. The user viewing the menu needs an Outpost role assigned. See Permissions and roles.

Install completed but some components are missing

Re-run the install with all components selected. Bundle re-installs are safe. They update existing records rather than duplicating them.
